A Wild and Rollicking Critique

A Wild and Rollicking Critique

Another critique has come and gone. It was really good to see all the critters.

I am convinced that the ladies known as the Cozy Critters are among the world’s most talented (and also have the best sense of humor). Helen brought a denim afghan which she had made. Each denim square was fringed and it was lined with flannel. This afghan was the basis for an inspirational piece she wrote about using old, worn-out denim to make something useful, comparing it to our lives. When God is in control, He can take a life which others might not think is worthwhile and turn it into something beautiful.

Jane brought some of her paintings she is working on. I started to snap a picture. “Oh, no!” Jane said. “Wait until they are finished.” So, I’ll wait. But let me tell you, Jane is a talented writer and artist.

Nancy’s book, The Grace Impact is scheduled to be published the first week of April. She has been preparing diligently and has her launch team all in place. I’m honored to be part of that team. Nancy is also sending out devotionals to various periodicals.

Helen brought another devotional article that was picked up by Evangel, “Walking In Love.” She also read two works in progress, “Blessed By Our Children” and “Adapting.” She is enthusiastic about a book she is reading, Safely Home by Randy Alcorn.

Peg the voracious reader is reading a series by B. B. Haywood. These are books whose titles begin with “Town In a…” She has just read Town in a Blueberry Jam. She really enjoys this series and has read five of the books by Haywood.

I caught them up on my writing life, the daily blog, the guest blog for Must Read Mysteries, the interview by Janet K. Brown, and the importance of networking.

Yesterday the sun went into hiding and a brisk wind turned the day chilly but at the cherry wood table, cookies, coffee, friendship and laughter warmed our hearts and brightened the cloudy day.

  1. A lovely looking bunch! I meet every so often with two writers but we meet at a restaurant for breakfast and then spread all our work out on the table when we’re finished eating. It would be wonderful to meet at a home but we live in three different directions and quite far apart. Besides, we don’t have an old table so it just wouldn’t work!

    • I loved your comment, Sharon! It’s nice to meet with friends for breakfast too. I’ve often thought that setting up a meeting for a certain morning each month with friends just to chat would be neat. No hundred-year old table? Hmm. Maybe with enough like-minded people gathered around, any table becomes rather special.

  2. Nancy Kay Grace says

I laughed when I read wild and rollicking! it was great to be together again.

  3. It is as much fun to read about our meetings as to be there.
