When you don’t know what to do about any situation, do what you do know. In other words, stay busy!
This morning, snow is stuck on houses and cars, just a little, not much. Not enough to be pretty. The trees are amber and black, grass is rather dreary. In other words, it’s a blah sort of day.
So many things are out of my hands. Worrying about them wouldn’t help at all, and it wouldn’t help me either. So, I do what I can do. I keep my hands and mind busy and don’t let those swirling fears take over.
Nemo and I filled bird feeders yesterday. Watching those feathered tufts is relaxing and fun. They need some help to get through cold winter months and I’m happy to do what I can.
Baking is good therapy for me. I put together a beef pot pie. It was hot and delicious–a bright spot in a bleak day.
I pray–a lot! How do I know what to pray for, what’s best? How am I supposed to have that wisdom? The answer is, I don’t. But, God does and I can voice all my fears and disappointments to Him. He knows what to do and He can handle it. Thomas Paine said it well, many generations back, “These are the times that try men’s souls.”
