Wandering Into Wednesday

Wandering Into Wednesday

The coffee is hot. The honey bran muffins are just out of the oven. Sky is overcast, as if it may rain today. Will it? Weather is iffy. You can’t count on it, except you can count on it to be changeable.

A couple of years ago, I bought a dilapidated Woman’s World, December 1918. I’ve enjoyed looking through it. The country was into being frugal and saving. There were tips for sewing and cooking and advertisements for home remedies. I particularly like to look at these, or at the ads for medicines that have long ago gone by the wayside. It was a different time then. Our way of living has changed greatly, and so have fashions.

It’s relaxing to look through this old magazine. Just for fun, I sometimes draw some of the women’s and girls fashions that I find there. In 1918, this was what a well-dressed little girl was wearing. Notice her button-up-the-side shoes. I like the pretty dresses that were in style.

When worries and fearful thoughts find their way into your mind, what do you do to relax? Do you draw or paint? Play the piano or crochet or go work in your garden? Does housework relax you? I also like to dust tables until they shine, wage war against dirty floors, and generally spiffy up whatever I can spiffy. It makes me feel better, lifts me out of the doldrums to live in a shiny house. Do you read a book to lift your spirits?

These are my thoughts as I wander into Wednesday. I hope they day is a good one for you. Don’t let troubles and worries get you down. Don’t forget that worry is interest paid on borrowed trouble. And, for goodness sake, don’t let the day go by without delving into one of those captivating cozy mysteries!

This is a sweet and enjoyable blog. Back in the day, I enjoyed having a clean house as well. Not that it’s really dirty now, but it made me feel good and then I’d sit down with a cup of tea and read Country Living magazine.

Now, I think the most peaceful, relaxing activity for me is going to an art museum. I love Impressionist art. I also enjoy travel, near and far. I also love photography. Those are probably my three favorite things to do.

Thank you for a thought provoking post. 🙂 Have a great day!
