Last night’s super moon lit the evening sky. Moonlight has a special, serene effect. People on the earth may be engaged in all sorts of turmoil: wars, crime, anger, dissensions; an enormous earthquake and tsunami that hit New Zealand, droughts here, floods there, yet the moon, beautiful and majestic, shines above it all.
I thought of this Scripture, “The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1). Many years ago, I set those words to music.
Slipping into my back yard, I captured that amazing moon with my camera. It looks as if the trees are paying it homage. My picture doesn’t begin to do it justice and you’ll find a lot better pictures on the web, but I was awe-struck and grateful I was privileged to see it.
