The Coffee Is Hot

The Coffee Is Hot

Beginning the day with coffee with friends means I’m off to a good start. Thanks for dropping in through the wonder of technology. Whether you are in Austria, Minnesota, Texas, California, South Carolina, or any place in between, it’s nice to have coffee with you. I enjoy sharing my thoughts and reading your comments. It’s neat to hear about your life and the important things for you.

This morning, I am looking forward to the arrival of some flowers. These are not ordinary flowers; they belong to a dear friend who is moving out-of-state and cannot take them all. 004Every time I look at these plants, I’ll think of her, not that I would need flowers to remember, but because they are hers, they are special.

This month is nearly half gone and I wonder where it went. Schools begin next week. I am very much aware of the swift passage of time. Yesterday is gone; tomorrow is not guaranteed. All we have is today and I wonder what we’ll do with it. Procrastination is one of my faults. What is that old saying? “Don’t put off ’til tomorrow what you should do today.” Surely, there are kind words I can speak, a load I can help carry, family or friends who need to hear, “I love you.” Tonight, as I lie in bed, I hope I am comforted by what I’ve done with today. The hours speed past and become weeks, then years. I need to make the most of them.

It’s time for another cup of coffee–Folger’s, of course, strong, hot, and black. It’s a funny thing: when I drink coffee in a cafe, I ask for cream. At home, I don’t like cream at all. Now, how strange is that?

I ask God to bless the day for all of us and make of it something good.

Thank you, Blanche for this wonderful post.

I hope you have a nice time visiting with your friend who is delivering the flowers and then planting them. Perhaps I’ll take time to go out and look at my flowers and do a little weeding. I had planned on writing all day.

    • Thanks, Susan, for writing. Yes, the flowers just came so my container garden has taken a sudden growth spurt. They are just beautiful. I’ll post some pictures later. Good luck on weeding and writing.
