Tell me a story. Even now, many years later ( I mean many years) I can remember following my mom around, asking her to tell me another story. I was too young to read, so how I can remember back that many decades, I don’t know, but I still remember the absolute joy of snuggling beside my mother and listening while she told (not read because so many of the tales had been passed down by word of mouth and she didn’t have the book) me a story. I loved listening to a good story then and I love it now.
This is the perfect day to get warm and cozy, settle down with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee or tea, and listen to a story. All of Darcy and Flora’s mysteries, as well as the first of Ned’s, Moonlight Can Be Murder, are available in audible. If you’d like to listen to snatches for free, just go to these links on Amazon. On the far left, you’ll see “audible sample.” Click on it and you can listen before you decide that you want to order a whole audible book.
As I said, this is a perfect day for it because it’s cold and there’s snow on the ground. Yes, snow! I love it when the weather slips in behind the weatherman’s back. It wasn’t forecast, or at least, I certainly didn’t know of it, and, it wasn’t much, but it was enough to change the landscape to white. These are Nemo’s little footprints across the deck last night.
Happy winter and happy listening! Enjoy it all.
My grandma was my story teller..LOVED her stories…all I can remember, is the cozy feeling of being curled up in her lap…in the rocker..Story telling time, was very important to her and me.
Thanks for commenting, Sue Ann. I’m so glad you had this time with your grandmother and that she was your story teller. I hope my grandchildren have those pleasant memories of me.
