In the book of life, yesterday’s page has been filled. Tomorrow’s page is a mystery. All we have is today–a fresh, white page and we hold the pen — Flora Tucker.
In all four of the Darcy and Flora cozy mysteries, cemeteries are front and center. I don’t think any of the books are morbid, do you? Yet, just listen to the titles: The Cemetery Club, Grave Shift, Best Left Buried, Grave Heritage. There it is: an underlying statement of stories that have been written and pages that have been turned.
Darcy and Flora respect the past; you’ll hear more about that in Grave Heritage. But, they are busy writing today’s story. And, what a story it is! Getting settled in their new home, Flora’s herb garden, that handsome new preacher at the church–all these should be enough to fill any day and it would be except…for some reason, mysteries pursue these two like a hound dog on the trail of a raccoon.
Writers are told to write about what we know, so I did (and then I took a little creative leeway.) I think my cozies are homespun. 
In all the Darcy and Flora cozies Goshen Cemetery has an important part. Goshen’s inspiration was Caney. If you haven’t visited the Caney website, I invite you to do so. That website was the idea of my son Matt.
You and I have today. When evening comes and we look back at what we’ve written, I wonder what we’ll see?
There are mornings, Blanche, when I look back at what I wrote the night before and swear someone crept into my office in the night and changed my story. On the plus side, I usually lift myself from the pothole I created and go from try to triumph.
