Yesterday morning began cold and, as far as I’m concerned, the whole day was cold. Oh, the sun shone, looking deceptively spring-like but, step outside, and zap! The cold wind got me. The only thing to do on such a day was to light the fireplace and enjoy the sunshine by looking out at it. And writing. I’m filling out the questionnaire for Pen-L Publishing and it is quite interesting. I’m glad the publisher is going to great lengths to get Barbara’s and my book, Best left Buried, before the public.
Even though the calendar says spring, the birds and I don’t believe it. I couldn’t resist yet another picture of a lovely cardinal. I’m still putting out black sunflower seeds and the birds and squirrels are still eating them. I don’t know this for a fact, but I deeply suspect that the redbird in the picture is wondering whether he should continue with nest-building or put it off until warmer weather.
This morning looks lovely too but the thermometer says it is 24 degrees! So, taking the mercury’s word for it, I lit the fireplace, poured a cup of Folger’s and decided it’s going to be another day to really enjoy–within the warm confines of my house.
It’s bound to be a good day, though, because this is Cozy Critique Day. The chocolate chip cookies will be ready and waiting and I have several pages of MCBM to read to fellow critiquers and ask their opinion. A couple of wills figure heavily in the story and I’m wondering if my fellow readers/writers have ideas about whether they sound authentic. I guess wills can be worded pretty much any way, can’t they? One of the wills is videotaped and one is the standard variety.
I do know, that, as one of the early morning TV shows says, the day goes better with friends. I’m hoping you have friends, several cups of good coffee, and a stack of books close at hand. They are bound to make this Wednesday a good one.
