Last night, my family took me to the Christmas performance of the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas. What an amazing Christmas gift! People of NWA have reason to be proud of this professional group of superb musicians.
The Walton Arts Center was packed and the audience listened with rapt attention as instrumental and vocal music filled the huge auditorium. Music can find a way into people’s souls, uniting and uplifting as nothing else can. Music from various countries, other centuries, many different cultures, all celebrating Christmas.
My personal favorite was Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. I think it must have been a glimpse of what a Heavenly choir will sound like, praising the Lord of Creation.
Christmas is a special time, a time with family and friends and celebration. Music is able to say what I don’t have words to say. It is a gift like no other.
