It’s amazing what snow will do for the drabness of winter. Snow covers the ground and rooftops and it’s still snowing. It’s a wonderland for children who run out, lifting their faces to the sky, catching the flakes on their tongues.
Do the birds and squirrels enjoy the snow? I doubt it. Four squirrels are greedily munching sunflower seeds I put out for the birds. One lone cardinal perches on another feeder.
I love sitting inside, looking out at it. I’m grateful for the change of seasons, the different landscapes. I like the way it covers the not-so-beautiful, the way it contrasts with the black bark of winter trees. And, I love the excitement of youngsters who consider it a wonderland. Snow!
