In case you missed it yesterday, let me share the good news: Apex did an in depth interview with me on their Above the Fold page. If you haven’t read it, please click on this link: http://apexreviews.net/Above_The_Fold_-_6_5_15.html
This guest comes around once in seventeen years. You might hear him at night, tuning up his fiddle, playing for all he’s worth, a high-pitched, deafening hum. He’s a beautiful little fellow, translucent green with lovely, red eyes. Yes, the red-eyed cicada is back in Oklahoma! For seventeen years, this cicada stays below ground, waiting for the right moment to emerge.
Regular cicadas come around every spring, I suppose. We always called them jar flies. Remember collecting their dry outer shells that they shed? I think every child has done that. Anyway, welcome seventeen-year, red-eyed cicada. Your time here is brief, so enjoy it!
Someone else that made his appearance yesterday was a small black snake at Matt and Dawn’s house. Unlike the cicada, this little fellow is quite shy, hiding under things in the yard. He tries very hard to be unobtrusive.
My deduction: it must be spring!
