Peg has been reading (she actually never stops) and I’m glad to say she enjoys cozy mysteries, maybe best of all. Is that right Peg? One of her favorites is Gone with the Wool by Betty Hechtman. Peg is eagerly awaiting a new release by Leann Sweeney, The Cat, The Collector, and the Killer. According to Amazon, its release date is August 2 so it won’t be much longer to wait.
Donna Andrews is another of Peg’s favorite authors. She is going back and re-reading all Donna’s books which she has already read in preparation for a new release, Die Like An Eagle . This newest book of Donna’s also has August 2 as its launch date.
Last weekend, Jane was involved in an antique sale. She proclaimed it to be a huge success. One of the things Jane enjoyed most about the sale was watching people. She said she saw all shapes, sizes, and ages, dressed in an assortment of styles. She particularly remembered a young mother and her children who dressed in vintage clothing.
People-watching did inspire Jane to write a poem but she just hasn’t had time to get it on paper yet. I’m looking forward to hearing what comes out of that antique sale!
Peg and Jane gave me some really good ideas and viewpoints on what to include and not to include in Fright of the Silvery Moon. Here are a few comments: “There’s always hail before a tornado (there’s a tornado in Fright) and the sky turns green.” “A tornado could cause the cell phone tower to go down and Ned, Jackie, and Pat couldn’t call anyone.” (This is actually a good time to insert the meme my publisher made. It too has a green sky.)
In Fright of the Silvery Moon, the detective who first appeared in Moonlight Can Be Murder makes an appearance in Ednalee. I was thinking of him as a murder victim but Peg said, “Don’t kill him. Kill off the librarian instead.” And Peg is the Critter who, last time, didn’t want the librarian to meet an untimely end!
My landing page at Pen-L Publishing is pretty neat! It even has a picture and information about Grave Heritage which will be released in September. If you’d like to see what’s on my Pen-L page, just click on the link.
A writer friend, Josephine Montgomery, is from the United Kingdom but is now living in the United States. She writes some highly descriptive comments. On my Wednesday Wanderings blog a few days ago, she commented on her life in a little Cheshire village. I think you’ll enjoy a peek into Josephine’s life there. Fascinating! Josephine’s own books are available from Amazon.
It’s hard to believe another week is coming to a close. We have rain in the forecast, but hopefully, no green skies, hail, or tornadoes. May the weather at your house be perfect and suit you to a T. Remember, any day is a good day to curl up with a cozy mystery.
