It was a fun time. My son and granddaughter fixed Mother’s Day lunch for all of us. Spaghetti, hot rolls, salad, dessert, served up with a big dash of caring. I loved it!
These times of togetherness are priceless. I couldn’t put a monetary value on them. I’m rich in having my family around me.
At times, problems, troubles, and worries press in on us. Sometimes, they even seem to be coming at us from all sides and we think, help, Lord. But, here’s a clue–if I can’t do anything about it, I shouldn’t worry about it. If it’s a problem that I have to make a decision, I decide on what to do and do my best. That’s all I can do.
In the meantime, there are so many good and right and positive things in my life, that it seems mighty selfish to ignore them. Just as daylight overcomes the night, I believe that good overcomes darkness.
Family, friends, faith and hope are riches that can’t be bought. Don’t believe me? Take a look around and see if it’s not true. Mother’s Day and a meal cooked by people I love illustrate how blessed I am. You are blessed too. And, you’re far richer than you might think.
