Oh, my stars and garters! Would you believe it is three degrees? Here in NWArkansas, it is Cold. Nemo and I fed and watered the birds. When I stepped on the deck, a floor board popped like a shot. I guess it was in a frozen state and resented being walked on.
Today, I plan to begin the year right by eating black-eyed peas and cornbread with Matt and his wonderful family. It’s a tradition.
Today, on this first day of a brand-new year, with endless possibilities stretching before you, I wish you hope and health, gladness of heart and an undaunted spirit, strength, courage and wisdom for all the challenges you will face. And, of course, I wish for you a plentiful supply of spine-tingling, warm, and cozy mysteries–only the written kind, of course.
And now, an Irish blessing to take with you into 2018: May your joys be as deep as the oceans, your troubles as light as its foam; And, may you find sweet peace of mind wherever you may roam.
