Good-bye, little dryer; you’ve done your job well. Through good times and bad, the adventures you’ve had, you’ve been through the mill and kept going.
But, all things must end, so it’s good-bye, my friend, your age, wear and tear are now showing. There’s nothing to do but replace you with new; it’s a parting of ways, it’s an ending.
You’ve taken old clothes and made them look new, out-lasted appliances younger than you; you’ve spun, clicked and whirred, never failing.
But the man said, though sad, your problem is bad, you’re sort of past fixing; you’re ailing. For thirty some years, you’ve been a good friend, you’ve spun, whirred and warmed and kept spinning.
Though now you must go, I want you to know, if dryers got medals you’d be winning.
So long, dear old appliance. I hope the next dryer lasts as long as you did!
Love this! I felt this way as the took away our 50 year old dryer… so many memories from baby clothes to grandma’s clothes!
Exactly, Amy! It was a good and faithful helper and lots of memories went with it. Thanks for writing.
