Jackson Conner for President

I nominate Jackson Conner for President. The first, most obvious thing you would notice about the man is that he looks Presidential. His physical appearance inspires confidence and enthusiasm. He is tall enough but not too tall. He has kept his good physique although he does not have the bulging muscles of a weight lifter. He is a handsome older man. He has a thick shock of white hair and a wonderful white mustache. He dresses neatly and appropriately but he doesn’t care much for following a fashion trend because he has far more important things on his mind.

Mr. Conner is a lawyer. Now, don’t let that turn you off. Think about all the past Presidents who have been lawyers. Well…okay, maybe we shouldn’t think about them. What really matters is that he loves his country, which happens to be the United States of America. He is a devotee of American history and he is also up on current events and has his opinion of what would and would not work with the leaders of other nations. His first concern is America, her people, her economy, and the ideals that have made us great. He deeply believes in individual freedom and less, not more, government.

He eschews political correctness. You would immediately suspect that because when you enter his office, you get a whiff of lovely smelling cherry-scented pipe tobacco. And, there is an ash tray on his desk! Imagine that!

He is a true and loyal friend and shuns publicity. Many people who cannot afford the price of legal advice come to Jackson Conner. He doesn’t turn away anybody needing help.

There is, however, one great big, insurmountable hitch to his becoming a candidate. Jackson Conner is a fictional person. The only place he exists is within the pages of the Darcy and Flora cozy mysteries. How to get him from there into the White House? Well, that presents a problem!
