Hey, good morning, all you cozy mystery fans and happy birth month all you July people!! Don’t you feel special today? This is your month to shine and how could you do otherwise with none other than that lovely ruby as your birthstone? Not only one flower for you, but two–the lily and the waterlily.
Also, to my Canadian friends, Happy Canada Day!
I could not miss this chance to re-introduce my one July mystery, and it’s a doozy! As we know, July is usually a hot month, probably dry. It’s good old summertime, but in this particular July, it’s rainy. Rain and more rain falls on the little Oklahoma town of Levi. Flora had a feeling in her bones that this was unnatural–you know–sort of portending something out of the ordinary. And, she was right. Murder struck her and Darcy’s small hometown. This was bad enough, but when one comes face to face with a deranged killer with nothing but an old-fashioned treadle sewing machine between him and you, it’s downright nightmarish.
Grave Heritage is where you’ll find this storm-ravaged July and all the breath-taking things it holds. It does sound grave, doesn’t it? And, who would want to inherit something like that? Nevertheless, this and more comes to Darcy Campbell, even without her asking for it. It was just almost too much for this amateur sleuth to handle. Almost!
You see, Darcy’s mom, Flora, had passed down some folk wisdom to her daughter and it proved true on this extremely strange month: Ne’er trust a July sky. Read the book and you’ll see why.
