If a writer of mysteries (me) ever needed a mysterious atmosphere in which to write a mystery, that dark, dangerous, scary time is now! In fact, after a night of lightning and storm warnings, it’s still dark and foreboding this morning.
My heart goes out to the people in Texas and Oklahoma and also here in Arkansas that have been so badly affected by the storms. This is quite a spring! This morning a chair sits at the end of my hall. You know why? Last night for a time we were under a tornado watch. Not an alert or warning but a watch so I wanted to be prepared. Thankfully, nothing happened more than rain.
Anyway, getting back to mysteries–that’s where I am this morning, mentally. I’m in Levi, Oklahoma with Darcy and Flora. And, as usual, they are out to right a wrong. They don’t look for dastardly deeds to come knocking on their door but those nefarious nightmares find them anyway.
It’s fun to read others’ comments about cozy mysteries. One reader discovered cozies only a short time ago and now she can’t stop buying and reading them. Well, why not? They are entertaining, non-fattening and not very costly. They are, however, addicting. And, for us writers of cozies, that’s good!
Whatever sort of morning you are in the middle of, I hope it is a happy one and if it isn’t, remember that prayer works miracles and gives us hope. That’s Darcy’s and Flora’s belief and it’s my belief too.

How did the chair at the end of the hall prepare you for the weather?
I had to chuckle at this. The hall is my safe place. The chair was there in case Nemo and I had to find what I consider the safest place in the house. We didn’t have to use it ’cause although we had a tornado watch, we didn’t have a tornado warning. I think the chair beats sitting on the floor! (Of course, Nemo would have been relegated to the floor in that event. Chair is only for me!)
Missy, let me hasten to add that the only reason Nemo would be assigned to the floor is that he doesn’t fit on my lap!!
Glad you didn’t need to use the chair. I have friends in OK and TX and you in my friend in Arkansas that I have been praying for The flooding and storms have been awful but I know that another one sits on His Chair (throne) watching over us all and I am so glad He does.
Thanks, Deb, for prayers. Yes, you are right. God sits on His throne and watches over us all.
