Sundays with family are the best and Sunday, my whole family was together with me for lunch. Then, after lunch, Matt, Nathan, and I had a music session. The boys played guitar accompaniment and I sang. Yes, I did. I sang an oldie but goodie, The Tennessee Waltz. They sounded great. Me? Not so much, but I enjoyed it and nobody else heard us except Dawn and Sara. I didn’t even take it personally when Nemo got up from sitting near my feet and found somewhere else to be.
Family times are the best, whether music is included or not. Just visiting, chatting, catching up with each other’s lives. A couple of weeks ago, my Texas nieces drove up for a visit. That was another blessed time. It’s great to put the cell phones down, look at each other, and listen. Family and friend togetherness leaves a warmth and a glow that lasts.
