This weekend we are supposed to have another of those blue moons. Now, a blue moon isn’t really blue; it’s what the second full moon in a month is called. Of course, this brought to mind my first Ned McNeil adventure, Moonlight Can Be Murder. I’ve re-read one of the Amazon 5-star reviews:
Blanche Day Manos has come up with another winning series. In Moonlight Can Be Murder, Ned (childhood nickname for Nettie Elizabeth Duncan) runs from danger in Atlanta, GA only to find more danger in her hometown of Ednalee, OK. She’s gone back home to help her uncle, but when she gets there, someone has already “taken care” of him. With many twists and turns and the help of old friends and an old flame, Ned fights to conquer her fears and her foes in this exiting tale of moonlight and murder. A wonderful cozy.
As you know, authors crave those wonderful reviews and I thank the fans who write them.
The full moon this weekend will be a good backdrop for the second Moonlight book, Fright of the Silvery Moon. In this book, there is no snow, as there was in Moonlight Can Be Murder; it is, after all, April. Ned, however, lives in a large Victorian house alone except for a small gray cat named Penny. The house has a history that involves disappearing people and murderous happenings so you can imagine the old house pops and cracks when the wind blows hard. Some noises in the night are unexplained. Ned will have plenty of chilling moments.
Under a full moon, strange things happen, whether there’s snow on the ground or one of Oklahoma’s fierce storms lashes the old mansion. I’m betting that Ned and her pals Pat and Jackie come through all the challenges. They may have a little help from Cade Morris but in this book, Cade has troubles of his own!
Sounds wonderful. I’m excited for it to come out and I can continue reading about Ned’s exploits! I just finished rereading the first book and all the Darcy and Flora books. They were actually better the second time around and whet my appetite for more.
Wow! Thank you, Peg, for that sterling testimonial. I appreciate you and am so glad you enjoy all the Darcy and Flora and Ned books.
I’m looking forward to the blue moon and Fright of the Silvery Moon!
Good! Thanks for writing, Teresa.
