For the past two nights, just as darkness closed in, thunder rumbled and rain fell, a perfect lullaby for summer, arriving at just the right time to do the most good for flowers and grass.
This morning in the pre-dawn darkness, robins and doves announce a new day. A train rumbles into downtown and the world awakes to something that has never happened before: Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
Nemo, who likes to be wherever I am, lies on the carpet, content with having had breakfast and his usual morning snack. Nemo doesn’t care for coffee but I do. The Folgers is hot and strong this morning.
My neighbor across the street starts his car and drives off to work. I wonder about my neighbors. I know their names and a little bit about their lives but what hopes and dreams do they have? What do they do with each day? What worries and frustrations mar their days and what keeps them going?
People are like still pools, calm and serene on the surface, but having hidden depths. Exploring those hidden depths, adding a bit of “what if” and being sure there is a happy conclusion to whatever is swirling there are what mystery stories are made of.
Blanche, I absolutely love all you wrote here! Of course, I usually do but this post has wonderfully captured my feelings and put them in print!
Love the phrase ; “..the world wakes to something that’s never happened before; Tuesday, June 29, 2016.”
A new day to thank the Lord for, knowing He’s at work in it already (and always!)! May He bless you richly in this day with examples of His loving kindness!
I pray you see(or hear!) each example!
Thank you for the blessings you give us readers! : )
Fran, what a sweet thing to say. You are indeed an encourager and a good friend. Thanks so much for writing.
