Yesterday afternoon was mostly cloudy with a chance for rain. But gathered around the old cherry wood table, we three women did our best to lighten up with lemon cake and coffee. Jane brought the lemon cake; I provided the coffee and Jane, Peg, and I lightened up the day with laughter.
Peg brought her newest book purchase to share with us. Midnight Snacks Are Murder by Libby Klein is a day brightener too. Peg really enjoyed the quirky characters, and the laugh-out-loud antics of Poppy and her Aunt Ginny.
Jane is continuing writing about Winnie the pig and Edith the cow. Yesteday’s poem was Be Yourself. Winnie wanted to be someone other than herself. We’ve all felt like that occasionally, haven’t we? Finally, Winnie decided there was no one else she would rather be. The moral of the story poem was “Be yourself.”
I read the three newest chapters to Moonstruck and Murderous. As mystery readers know, it’s fun to try to guess the bad guy before the author makes it plain. In this case, there are quite a number of bad guys to choose from, but there’s a particular one who is truly venomous. Indeed! What fun it is to write and make up out of whole cloth the person who’s responsible for causing mayhem. Quite a character!
I am looking forward to your new book. I wish I could be a little mouse in the corner and listen in on you three sounds like a good time.
Thanks, Deb. I wish you could be more than a mouse in the corner. I wish you could join us some day. We’d love to have you and you’d lend much to the discussion.
