Light the World with Laughter

Light the World with Laughter

Jane, who has a way with words, captioned one of the pictures we took yesterday. “Smiles of the cozy critters” she called it. And, she was right. When we get together for our critique, we do our fair share to light the world with laughter. I think we must be incurable optimists. We are doing what we love: reading and writing, so, naturally we are pretty happy about it.

Helen shared three more inspirational stories that Word Aflame bought. Two of those were stories we had critiqued back in the fall so we certainly rejoiced in her victory. Nancy showed us the cover of her book that she has designed, and the title she is considering. Jane read two more encouraging pieces: one an inspirational article and one a story poem concerning the city of Johnson. Peg always has discerning input concerning what will work and what won’t in a story. I read  several excerpts from Moonlight Can Be Murder, and asked for advice in a couple of places; namely, what sort of clue would Nettie find at a murder scene, a clue that she would keep secret from the police?

Yesterday, March was in one of her chilly moods. The fireplace felt good to colds hands. Hot coffee helped too but the most welcome part of the critique was the warm friendship shared by these ladies who are known as the Cozy Critters.

  2. That’s OK, Helen. If you’ll notice, I have an extraneous “s” at the end of a word–shouldn’t be there. It’s good to know someone else besides I make typos. I knew what you meant!

  3. Made me smile to read your reflection!

  4. That’s high praise, Nancy. Thank you!
