What do you do when you want to relax a bit and do something entirely different, something just for fun? Yesterday, I painted a nest egg gourd. Now, it just took a few minutes but as I looked at the sunflower arrangement, it seemed to need something to contrast with the yellow. So, I found one of the egg gourds in the garage and turned it into a ladybug.
How did your first day of May go? Did anybody make or get any May baskets? Did you use “Maybe” at least two dozen times? After Matt read yesterday’s blog, he asked if a swarm of May bees would be called a cloud of doubt. So, yes, that would be an apt description.
Yesterday, in fact the last three days, have rated near perfection, weather-wise. Many people have forgotten this but a couple of years ago, we had snow on May 3. Not to dampen anyone’s spirits but sometimes Mother Nature plays tricks. However, it doesn’t seem that we’ll have that problem this year.
So, off we go into a brand-new month. May the Lord bless and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

What a cute idea that lady bug was. I love sunflowers and miss having a garden to plant them in. I hope you have a pleasant weekend.
Hugs,
Deb
Thanks for writing, Debbie. Making the ladybug was fun and didn’t take long. I like sunflowers too. They look cheerful.
Love your clever arrangement…and love the ladybug!!
Thanks, Fran!
