It’s a little more than just a mite chilly here in NW Arkansas this morning. I think that fifteen degrees below zero must be a record. A friend, a Cozy Critter, in a near-by Arkansas town is even colder and that’s not counting wind chill. So, what’s happening? Has the great frozen North Pole moved closer to our southern border, taking us with it?
Nemo seems unconcerned, since he has a double thickness of a warm coat. However, I’m sure his feet get cold when he must go outside to do his necessities. So, he doesn’t get to stay out long. I hope that all little animals as well as all people have a place of shelter.
I’m feeding birds and the black sunflower seeds contain oil to keep them going, but even at that, they have to contend with the cold. There are several inches of snow beneath their feet and no way to keep them off it. So, best of luck, little feathered friends.
I’m grateful for a warm house and food. I am reminded that there’s a fine line between comfort and real discomfort. And, I know that the Lord is with us all.
