It’s Coming

It’s Coming

It’s coming–cold weather, that is. My yard is littered with acorns and leaves. Squirrels are busily digging, burying a supply of food for the winter. Chances are, they’ll forget where it is but if they do, I’ll bet it won’t be hard to find more because there’s an abundance of acorns this year.

Cool weather energizes more than squirrels; it puts a spark in people too. Yesterday, Matt, Nathan and I had a rousing game of basketball. It was not a long game, pretty short, in fact, but it got the Adrenalin going.

Church was nice, with its “small group”. I’m not sure when Sunday school became “small group time” but it’s actually the same thing. Does old terminology wear out, like clothes? Anyway, it’s always nice to meet with friendly faces and discuss Scripture. Sometimes the discussion is animated; sometimes, it’s calming, but it’s always good.

Each day, writing takes up a large chunk of time. Writing, proofing, considering, and re-writing. I love spending time with Darcy and Flora and Ned. And, if I tire of the real season (autumn) I can go to Levi, Oklahoma and find it’s July or hop on over to Ednalee and lo and behold! It’s Christmas. That’s one of the joys of books. They provide instant travel without moving an inch!
