What a great morning for a cozy mystery! The morning is as dark as twilight; thunder grumbles through the heavens and the whole scene is punctuated with flashes of lightning. I love mornings like this!
My neighbor’s car hurries down the hill, a dark shape with headlights shimmering on the wet street. Nemo hears the thunder and moves closer to my chair. He is looking ever so spiffy this morning since his visit with a groomer yesterday. I suggested that he might like to read a bit of Moonlight Can Be Murder but when I offered him the book, he looked at me suspiciously and walked off!
The only birds who braved the weather are the doves and maybe a wet robin or two. But, as the rain strengthens, I’m pretty sure even these hardy harbingers of morning will take cover.
To me, a spring thunderstorm (minus tornadoes and hail, please) is invigorating. There’s no telling what I might accomplish today; perhaps I’ll finish the cleaning-out-of-the-bedroom job I started a month ago. Perhaps I’ll streak through a chapter or two of Fright of the Silvery Moon.
My publisher tells me Grave Heritage is nearing its launch date. She sent me the cover picture and I really do like it! Do you see that red rose by the headstone? It has an important part in the story! Do you notice Lee Creek flowing past? In Heritage, that little creek floods so much you wouldn’t believe! I can hardly wait for you to read it! Grave Heritage is the fourth book in the Darcy and Flora cozy mystery series.
Speaking of books: only today and tomorrow left of the contest. If you have forgotten to enter, please do so. Just click on the “contest” link in the previous sentence. I’d really like to have a picture of you or your pet reading one of the Darcy and Flora cozies or Ned’s. Whatever you do this Friday as April nears its close, I hope you are blessed beyond your wildest expectations. Remember, if it’s raining at your house as it is at mine, pour a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and lose yourself in a cozy mystery!
