Sometimes inhibitions are good. For instance, this morning I feel like going into the yard and singing, “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!” loudly and enthusiastically. However, I won’t. That would be disturbing the peace to say nothing of causing people to wonder about my mental state.
Inwardly, though, I’m singing because this is summertime. Trees are leafed in lovely, fresh green. Flowers are blooming and bees are humming.
At night, little tree frogs sing at the top of their lungs. No inhibitions there! I wonder if they are descendants of the tadpoles I brought home from my friend Norma’s pond a few years ago.
Inhibitions or restraint? I guess restraint would be resisting the urge to do something; self-control. An inhibition would be a learned or deep seated fear of doing something.
Nature, however, seems to have no inhibitions and the only restraints are natural ones. Summer, though? Summer is unrestrainedly a beautiful season.
Wherever you are, I hope you are having a wonderful morning and a beautiful day!
Oh, auntie!! SING SING SING!!! I’ve heard it said that she who sings prays twice. So I say SING!!
Ok, Missy. I won’t be inhibited. But, you’ll have to explain me to the neighbors. Heh.
