“It’s a really nice day,” they said. “It’s quite warm except for the wind,” they said. I didn’t believe it! Yesterday was cold! The wind was from the north, whipping across the plains and barreling through the trees, tossing whitecaps on the lakes.
Even my newly-opened yellow crocus thought it was cold. I know how they felt because I saw them shiver in the wind and I was shivering too. Thank goodness they are tucked among brown leaves left over from autumn. I wouldn’t blame them if they disappeared beneath the ground again and didn’t poke their little heads out ’til April.
To my brother in Minnesota, yesterday would have been balmy. Taking into account this is February and in the middle of winter, it was warm, I guess, but I still thought the wind was icy. It all depends on how one looks at things. Point of view–maybe mine needs polishing.
