Hope and Springtime

Hope and Springtime

Today, being the last of March, may be unpredictable. You know how she is, warm one day, cold the next but all in all, the adage about March coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb is holding true. April? I don’t know. April is whimsical.

But, with March, we can tuck away all its happenings. As Scripture says, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing” (Isaiah 43:18-19.

I try to keep the old things that are worth keeping; the valuable, irreplaceable things like friendship, love, warmth, joy, trust and faith, hope. The old things, the disappointments of the past month or year, the hurts and fears and sorrows, I try to leave behind me.

The wild violets are blooming, a sign of renewal and tenacity, a reminder that at last winter is over and spring is really here!
