Here, There, and Everywhere (Almost)

Here, There, and Everywhere (Almost)

After many cancellations due to conflicts in schedules, the Cozy Critters finally met again yesterday. As usual, it was a fun time. Jane was brimming with enthusiasm for her recent trip out west. She has been posting pictures on her Facebook page and brought more to show us today. Her and Mark’s first stop was Oklahoma City where they visited the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. Here, she marveled at life-size paintings, one of which looked as if the subject was going to step right out of the frame and say Howdy.

Next, Albuquerque and Old Town. In Santa Fe, they enjoyed the Spring Art Festival. Durango and Silverton, Colorado where they rode the narrow gauge railroad.  There were pueblo dwellings in Mesa Verde, fantastic rock formations, Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and in Goodland, Kansas, on the way back home, the world’s largest easel on which was a replica of Sunflowers by Van Gogh.

Peg is waiting for new releases from her favorite authors. In the meantime, she has discovered another author, Lucy Lawrence, who also writes under the name of Jenn McKinlay. She is enjoying three cozy mysteries by this author. All three have to do with the art of decoupage: Sealed with a Kill, Cut to the Corpse, and Stuck on Murder.

Nancy couldn’t be at the critique because of a conflict in scheduling, but she has been busy with a great vacation in Pagosa Springs, Colorado which she took a hot air balloon ride, and attending a Christian Communicators’ Conference in Branson. Coming up is a trip to Tulsa to share her testimony at the Stonecroft Women’s Connection luncheon at the Fellowship of Christian Writers meeting on The Heart of the Writer.

Carolyn is completely swamped with many activities, including an upcoming art show. She is an accomplished artist and it takes a lot of preparation to get her paintings all ready to be exhibited. We wish her the best.

Peg and Jane listened creatively while I read bits of Moonstruck and Murderous. Their response was encouraging and they had a few helpful hints which can only make the book better.

And so ended another critique. Already, I am looking forward to the next one.
