July is usually a hot, dry month in Oklahoma but not this particular month for Darcy and Flora. Besieged by torrential rains and swirling flood waters, they face something even more horrendous by an unknown killer.
A middle-aged, curious, energetic woman named Nettie (or Ned) McNeil emerges in a different cozy series, Moonlight Can Be Murder . Ned seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fleeing an anonymous threat in Atlanta, she comes back to her hometown hoping to enjoy a quiet Christmas with her uncle. Instead of Yuletide festivities, Perils abound as a killer hopes to make her victim number three.
So, with all this going on, are my cozies really cozy? Do they invite you in for a cup of coffee and a warm chat with friends? Is there a romantic involvement and would you like to have each of these women as a friend? Well, yes. But, there’s something added–a little more deadly danger, quite a lot of murderous menace. Come to think of it, weather is always a factor: a vicious thunderstorm, a couple of earthquakes, snow and cold, flooding. Mixed in with killers who don’t particularly like their dark deeds exposed, this adds up to cozies, but they all have an extra shiver!
