Gleanings are bits and pieces of grain left when a field has been harvested. This morning’s blog is really bits and pieces of this and that: some serious, some not. Anyway, these are my thoughts this morning.
The flowers and potted evergreen from my friend Fran are now in my container garden. They have enlarged that garden considerably and look lovely. I just hope I can keep them as pretty and healthy as she did. This large, blue plant is Salvia, sage-blue Anise. The hummingbirds love it! I saw a little hummer hovering over the blossoms yesterday.
I read an arresting comment from the D. James Kennedy’s Ministries page this morning”Tolerance is the last virtue of a completely immoral society.” Why do we tolerate that which we know is wrong?
I’ve noticed that not many main-stream media are covering the genocide of Christians around the world. These brothers and sisters in Christ suffer horrible deaths because of their faith. Why are we silent? Are we turning a blind eye? Is silence agreement, or something we just don’t want to think about? Do we disbelieve?
These are just a couple of gleanings from the things I wonder about. There’re more but I don’t think wondering about them will do much good. God gave us minds to think with and emotions to feel sympathy with those who are hurting or being mistreated. In paraphrasing an old quote: The only thing it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to remain silent.
I checked the weather wand this morning and it is undecided about coming weather but is leaning a bit toward the “rainy” side, which means it is starting to point downward. So, here is the Cozy Mystery Forecast by authorologist Manos: Cloudy with a good chance of a cozy mystery or two, apt to continue all evening.
