Rather than tell you in words about yesterday’s luncheon at Fran’s, I’ll let the pictures show you. A picture is worth a thousand words, you know. I’ve mentioned before that Fran keeps a Christmas tree in her entry way all year and decorates it with season appropriate items. Yesterday she had school things on and under the tree in celebration of a new school year.
Her food table always looks attractive and colorful as well as yummy. It’s mostly salads, after all, and we all know how heart healthy they are. These had the added attraction of being delicious.
Then, there’s Fran’s dessert table. Just get a load of those desserts! “Sinfully delicious” is what one of the ladies called that spectacular pie. Of course, we wanted to remove temptation from our path as soon as possible and the only way to do that was to eat it. Right? So, we did.
A few posts back, Fran had mentioned the song “Ramblin’ Rose” in the comments section. She asked me to play it for her so yesterday I played Nat King Cole’s popular song on her upright piano. That was fun! Five of us Cozy Critters were at the luncheon plus a whole lot more friends who come each month. Fran truly is gifted with hospitality. And we are the happy recipients.
Darcy and Flora are into good food too. By the way, Fran always has a pot of Folgers coffee as does Flora. Blanche, thank you for this post, I sent to several people and they loved it. JoAnne, that used to be my Kitchen Helper, said it made her homesick for all of us!
Thank you, too, for that beautiful rendition of Ramblin’ Rose! I think you should always play us something, you bring such joy with your playing! : )
It was my pleasure, Fran, both the post and the music. Maybe JoAnne will come back and be with us again some day.
