Friends and November First

So many “firsts” this morning, that my thoughts are whirling kind of like the autumn leaves off the trees. This is the beginning of NST (Normal Standard Time) when we forget about Daylight Savings Time for a few months. Last night, to get ahead of this, I ran my clocks back way before bedtime, so here I am at my summer gettin’ up time and, let me tell you, I’m up early!

And, this is the first day of a brand new month. November is a no-holds-barred late autumn month. In October, we can look at all those colored leaves and bask in the warmth of remembered summer but November? Well, it definitely is a long way from warm weather.

Another first is that Moonlight Can Be Murder has found a niche on Amazon. It is exciting to see Ned McNeil join Darcy and Flora on the Cozy Mysteries pages. Thank you, Darcy and Flora’s friends, for being willing to get to know Ned too. Friends make lovely things happen. Darcy and Flora have each other in their forays into the mysterious, but Pat, Grant, Jackson, Burke Hopkins, the Misses Jenkins are the friends, the Circle of Silence, who support and comfort and share some mighty big secrets with Darcy and her mom.

In Moonlight, Ned has the support of her girlhood friends as well as Cade Morris. Then, of course, there is Penny, her confidante.

Friends can be real or they can be fictional. Sometimes readers (and writers) feel comforted or happier or maybe feel a kinship with the people within the pages of a book.

And, I consider you who enjoy traveling the road with Darcy, Flora, and Ned, as my friends. Thank you for reading, for writing those all-important reviews, and for spreading the word about Moonlight Can Be Murder, The Cemetery Club, Grave Shift, and Best Left Buried.
