“Friendship is a Golden Chain, The links are friends so dear,” said Helen Steiner Rice in her poem, A Golden Chain. Yesterday’s luncheon at Fran’s was a warm example of friendship. Twenty ladies gathered in Fran’s house which she and Donna had decorated for the Christmas season. That in itself was enough to brighten the dark November day. Fran’s house overflowed with conversation, laughter, and good food. I believe there were twenty women present.
Near the end of the meal, Fran graciously gave me time to promote my three Darcy and Flora cozy mysteries, The Cemetery Club, Grave Shift, and Best Left Buried. And then came an unexpected blessing. Nancy presented me with a bright poster of my three books and a coffee mug adorned with the cover pictures. What a neat surprise! And how thoughtful and kind. Thanks, Nancy!
Three of my critique group were at the luncheon: Jane, Peg and Nancy. They added moral support and endorsements by telling the group they have read the books and they are indeed really good mysteries!
So ended another of Fran’s delightful monthly luncheons. I came away feeling glad and warm and very grateful for those links in my own golden chain, my friends.
Glad you liked it! Be blessed!
