The guests were too many to go around Fran’s long table so they spilled over into the living room yesterday. An array of salads, Fran’s famous minestrone soup and a dessert table awaited the women gathered there.
Flowers and plants flourished in their container homes in the front and back yards. Reds, blues, purples, yellows, climbing vines and spreading shrubs, all colors of blossoms greeted Fran’s guests.
I’ve noticed that the bouquets of flowers along the table and in the kitchen are always real. Nothing artificial here. It’s like the welcome I feel when I enter Fran’s home.
And, like the profusion of food and flowers, so are the guests: from many backgrounds and states with many different interests. You can imagine the interesting chatter.
Thanks, Fran, for another lovely luncheon.
