Firmly Resolving

Firmly Resolving

The characters in my books have no hang-ups about expressing their opinions or, as it turns out, their New Year’s resolutions. Yesterday, those from Levi, Oklahoma spoke up. Today, a few from Ednalee tell us what they hope for the year 2022.

Ned McNeil: My cell phone–I am going to try never to forget to have it with me when I leave the house. Of course, with the new phone scabbard from Cade, this is going to be a lot easier. Now, if I can just remember to wear that scabbard! And, my nosiness–I mean my natural inclination to know what’s going on. I’ll try to curb it, but, honestly, if a person wasn’t involved in the strange happenings around her, life wouldn’t be nearly so much fun. For example, why weren’t people interested in getting to the bottom of a murder that happened in town fifty years ago? Why the big secret? And, just what WAS the secret?

Cade Morris: The past is the past and that’s where it’s going to stay. No more guilt over Lena, no more looking back and feeling bad about my first marriage. And last, but not least, trying to convince Ned to let me handle the trouble that, for some reason, seems to center around that old house she lives in. I hope she resolves to keep her cell phone with her. Every time she gets involved with an old house and its owners, she gets in trouble. She needs her phone. It has been her lifeline more than once.

Ann Decker: I’m going to write my memoirs. Why not? Now that I think about it, I’ve had a pretty interesting life and I’m grateful to have survived all these many years.  I must put down some of those memories on paper. But, some I will not put down because I’d rather forget them. I’ve always been one to look on the bright side of things and for every negative, there are a hundred positives, so I’ll just be grateful and resolve to have a happy 2022. With Ned McNeil as my next-door neighbor, I have a feeling it will be an exciting year!
