Have You Enjoyed a Hygge Today?

I just learned a new word: hygge.  If you’d like to read more about it, it’s in The Farmer’s Almanac. Just click on the link. The word comes to us from Denmark, which has long, cold, dark winters. Just as a friendly hug warms the heart, so does the Norwegian hygge. They dress in soft, warm, clothes, create cozy nooks with muted lighting, indulge in hot cocoa and hot cider; they create comforting spaces wherever they can and enjoy being snug and warm inside while it’s cold and dark outside. They make a point of enjoying the small things, those everyday moments that make up our lives.

Speaking of weather, the sky is red this morning! Red sky of morning, sailors take warning. Does that mean that much-needed rain is on the way? I hope!

Thanks to my first readers for reading By the Fright of the Silvery Moon. Your edits and suggestions are incorporated into the book. It’s shined up, dusted off, tweaked and straightened and is in the hands of Pen-L.com. And now comes discussion about the cover. Peg suggested the very old church which figures largely in the book should be on the cover, with the silver moon behind it. Of course, a few graves around would help. Even though you haven’t read the book yet, if you have any suggestions, just from reading the title, send them along.

I enjoy reading the reviews you write about my books. The latest is from Socrates Reviews and is about Best Left Buried in the audio format. I’ve really become engrossed in this series. It’s the second one I’ve listened to. The characters jump right out at you. Darcy and Flora are a great mother/daughter sleuth team. This entry in the series is filled with family secrets and keeps the reader guessing. The past blends with the present for a captivating read. I was trying to figure things out right along with Darcy and Flora. Everything fell nicely into place. It’s filled with action, adventure, mystery and even a touch of romance.

I’m looking forward to listening to more from this series.

Thank you, Socrates Reviews.
