I could not believe the temperature this morning! Thirty-eight degrees! No wonder the furnace kicked on. Coffee is good any time of year but particularly in these chilly times. I’m on my second cup of Folgers this morning and it is very welcome.
Wednesday will be Cozy Critique time. I am so looking forward to what each Critter is reading or writing. Or both. Inspiration comes to each of us at different times. Jane confides that sometimes inspiration wakes her up as she is about to doze off. For others, inspiration comes when we seem to be sitting at the computer but are actually miles away. Inspiration sometimes sneaks up behind us when our hands are in dishwater or we are gazing out the window at autumn leaves. Anyway, whenever we have an idea, it is good to hurry and scribble it on something before that elusive inspirational thought escapes.
Have you ever been in a restaurant and a snatch of conversation or some activity within the restaurant makes you think of a story or a poem? There you are, with no paper, what do you do? A napkin comes in handy in a pinch. I’ve scribbled thoughts on napkins, the back of checks, the palm of my hand. A writer is enterprising, you know. We must rise to the occasion!!
“My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” (Psalm 45:1). How about yours?

I have a paper notebook, a computer,, a tablet and a Kindle Fire but sometimes I just need to lay down and tell myself to put. the story in my head.
I understand the feeling, Linda. Thanks for writing!
