It was a perfect summer evening. Smoke from the fire pit curled up through the maples. Hot dogs sizzled, marshmallows melted, and the lightning bugs blinked in a friendly way.
Tree frogs celebrated the summer evening with their enthusiastic voices. We stayed out until the sun’s last rays gilded the tops of the trees and twilight slipped in.
Matt and Dawn’s back yard with my family gathered around the fire pit–who could ask for a better ending to a lazy summer day?

I think we need to do that a lot this fall. It sure was fun and relaxing. I could have sat out there until midnight, but then I probably would have fallen asleep.
Sounds like a plan to me. Nothing wrong with falling asleep while watching a campfire!
