Books, Mushrooms, and Other Stuff

My house is awash in books! Honestly. Just take a look a these pictures and that’s not counting the books in the bedrooms and stored away because I don’t have enough bookshelves.

I guess you could say I am book poor. Another way of looking at it is that I’m book rich. Whichever, I’m glad I have them. I could give them away or sell them but do you know how hard it is to part with a book?

Do you ever wake up with a thought running through your head for no apparent reason? I woke up this morning thinking that if I were thirty years younger, the world a saner place,my son a little boy again, and if I had the money (have I mentioned the importance of that little word “if”?) I would home school and we would tour the world. That would be his education and mine–learning things first hand about other geographies, other cultures.

This is in the neither here nor there, just “stuff” category: We had rain last night and when I looked out at my neighbor’s back yard, I saw three pretty white mushrooms, showing up nicely in the darkness. Pretty neat, huh?
