It’s great to have friends who will read a work in progress and give you her honest opinion about it. Thanks, Peg, for reading Moonlight Can Be Murder. Can’t wait to hear your critique.
Speaking of books, I guess you know that they are some of my best friends – books and bumble bees. The other day, a person came to my door and when I went outside to speak to him, he said, “Be careful. There’s a bee in your flowers.” “That’s okay,” I told him. “Bees are some of my best friends.” He gave me an odd look and changed the subject to what he was selling. But, hey! If a person can’t be a little goofy at my age, when can she?
Anyway, books are some of my best friends too. They go with me anywhere, are unobtrusive and require little care, and they are always at hand, ready to whisk me away to an exciting adventure. At the moment, I’m reading Cry in the Night by Carolyn Hart. It isn’t part of a series but is a stand-alone book. A word of warning: don’t begin reading it if you have something else to do because once you pick it up, you can’t put it down.
Computers, on the other hand, are a mixed bag. I enjoy my computer immensely but sometimes it is a big headache, not only for me, but for my tech expert, Matt. Did you ever type something important, save it, and then the computer either eats it, hides it, or gives it a giant toss out into the cosmic atmosphere? On second thought, maybe that’s why it’s called the World Wide Web. That’s what it is – a giant, invisible web with a malicious spider who waits to devour unsuspecting manuscripts. Anyway, thanks to Matt, he has solved that problem.
My niece Hilary McCown and her fiance Michael Hanson are involved in a new enterprise. It sounds exciting and I wish them the best of luck. If you would like to check it out, here is Michael’s Hanson’s website: http://www.lifeleadership.com/61372095 You will find lots of material about what they are doing and the company itself. It is informational and worth checking into.
“My tongue is the pen of a ready writer” (Psalm 45:1).
Was Matt able to retrieve your manuscript from the giant nether void?
It wasn’t a manuscript, only a lesser story, but, no, neither he nor Sara could find it so he installed an external hard drive. With that safety net, it won’t happen again!
