The Beauty of Blue Skies, Leaves, and Mushrooms

The Beauty of Blue Skies, Leaves, and Mushrooms

Some days are so golden and blue-skied and perfect that I want to tuck them away in a book to open and enjoy when winter comes. Yesterday was one of those days. Leaves are falling faster now. They nestle on the wispy-looking grass, perfect covers for a beetle to snuggle beneath.

As I put out water for the birds in the back yard, I noticed tiny, fragile mushrooms growing in one of the flower pots. I had never seen any so small and tried to get a picture but the picture didn’t really turn out very well.

Front yard flowers are putting on a final fall show. The daisy Dawn planted last spring has one lovely pink bloom. And, the back yard fern is prettier than it has been all summer. I think it likes cooler temperatures.008

This morning, I’m enjoying my first cup of Folgers and looking forward to another day. Each day is full of beauty; sometimes, it is clear and unmistakable, like yesterday’s sky and bright leaves.

Sometimes it almost goes unnoticed, like the minute mushrooms, but it is there. If we look.
