She has to have a guardian angel whose specialty is looking after homeless waifs. No one knows where she actually came from, so I’ll start by telling what we do know. A dear friend of mine first became aware of her on a drive into Tahlequah when she and her daughter heard a kitten mewing. They got to town, looked all over the truck and someone at the store where they stopped raised the hood and looked too. No cat. On the drive back home, they continued to hear a kitten so when she got home, she raised the hood again and there, perched precariously on a ledge near a tire was a tiny kitten.
My friend, who already had five cats plus four adults in her home, simply could not keep the little stowaway. So, she mentioned this fact to me and I mentioned it to my son. The result was that my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson have added a kitten to their family. She weighs a bit over two pounds and is as personable and cute as a kitten can be.
My friend and her daughter brought all the accoutrements: food, toys, carrier. We had a good visit as we all sat admiring the newest member of the family. The kitten’s exact origin is a bit uncertain as is her pedigree, but all that is unimportant. What is important is that she survived a shaky trip inches from death beneath the wheels of a truck, and the person who found her was determined that she would be placed with a loving family and given a new start in life. My grandson named her. So, meet Bea, one of the world’s luckiest kittens.
How sweet! I love real life happy endings!
I do too, Morgan. We need more happy endings in life. Thanks for writing.
Angels indeed! Please keep us updated as she grows. <3
Yes, I will. She’s a lively little thing. They took her to the vet for her first “doctor’s visit.” She kind of perks up this family of adults.
