And That’s the Way It Is

Good morning. Coffee is perked and Nemo and I are about to go sit on the deck while it’s cool. Today will be another warm one.

My Minnesota people are enduring the heat and thankful for air conditioning. How did we do this when I was a child and we had no air conditioning except for fans? I guess it turns us into hardy people. Right?

Yesterday we enjoyed Crystal Bridges. It is awe-inspiring to be among such talent. Originals of paintings I’ve seen only prints or copies of. The original portrait of George Washington that was used for his picture on the one dollar bill, Washington as a young man, a Remington…the list goes on. Such amazing talent and such a wonderful gift to all of us that we can walk through and enjoy the original American art in all its wonder.

A really eye-catching addition is the video of a man that is made to look like a portrait. You’d think it was a large-size photograph until you saw him blinking and breathing. How did the artist capture this? Hmm. It is explained on the note beside it but it is quite eerie and fun.

NW Arkansas is rich in its beauty, both natural and man-made. Whether the weather is hot and sweltering or winter-time cold, there’s much to enjoy.
