An Odoriferous Guest

I never did see her but I know she was there in my back yard yesterday–somewhere. I noticed her presence first by the air conditioner, then later my nose led me to the storage building. I was happy, though, that she was the shy type and didn’t make an appearance, although, doubtless, black, beady eyes watched me.

I’ve a suspicion that she was hunting for water. Things are awfully dry now. I’m hoping Hurricane Helene will take pity on us and fling some water into Arkansas. Wildlife and plant life are needing help.

Such was my adventure with a shy, hidden animal who couldn’t seem to hide the pungent aroma that identified her. Has she gone somewhere else today? I sincerely hope so!

  1. A few weeks ago Buster was barking at an animal on the other side of our gate. I walked over to take a closer look and it was a skunk. I yelled at Buster to get away and the skunk left also. So glad it left before it left its trademark odor!

    • Yes. I’m glad Buster didn’t get sprayed too. That’s what I was afraid of with Nemo. I like skunks fine but not in my yard! So, I think he/she has gone today. But, the odor lingers.
