This morning, I stepped out on my deck and heard a cheery bird song. Looking more closely, I saw a small brown wren in the crepe myrtle bush. Zipping around the crepe myrtle blooms was a hummingbird. What a happy greeting to a brand-new day.
The news coming from the TV and internet may be bad (much of it is) but God’s creatures go along doing what they were meant to do and in the process brightening the morning. I’m grateful.
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Darcy and Flora enjoy the seasons and it seems a steaming cup of Folgers helps the day go right. You can take it from me that each morning they, as I do, wake up with a cup of coffee and an enthusiasm for a brand-new day. I was pleased to see Darcy and Flora appear here: http://www.cozy-mystery.com/blog/mystery-books-with-no-profanity-swearingand-or-faith-based-mystery-book.html

Way to go, Blanche!! First, your beginning of post is great comfort and sage wisdom when consumed with news, etc! “Turn your eyes upon Jesus….” ..and go on doing what we were meant to do…and we’ll brighten someone’s morning.. like you just did! : )
And…I’m so proud of you! That’s a great list to be on! Your name is hob-nobbing with some big ones! : )
I’ve printed out the list to share…thanks!
Thanks so much, Fran, for those encouraging words! And thanks for printing out and sharing the list. I’m always happy for those friends who share with others if anything about my writing blesses them.
