Libraries are wonderful things. I’ve written several times about the blessing of having free libraries in this country. When you think about it, it’s amazing that we have at our finger tips, access to any book on any topic and it doesn’t cost us a thing. Andrew Carnegie, the Scottish-American philanthropist, built 2,509 libraries between 1883 and 1929. Isn’t that a wonderful legacy? Mr. Carnegie has been gone for many years, but the good that he did with his money continues to bless people today.
Yesterday afternoon, I made a trip to our library, checking out more books by my current favorite author, Ann B. Ross. I glanced at the shelf that contains the authors whose names begin with M. All of my cozies were neatly lined up, except one that was checked out. What a thrill.
The librarian of another Arkansas town, Russellville, emailed that they have all my books too. That made the day seem suddenly much brighter.
Fall is now officially here. Days are certainly shorter as darkness comes earlier and lingers longer each morning. A library is a wonderful place to spend some of these fall days. I like the people, the atmosphere, the smell, and, of course, the shelves and shelves of books in libraries. They are pretty neat. Thank you to libraries and librarians for being a blessing to so many.
Congratulations on your being in libraries..and checked out! That’s exciting! : )
Thanks, Fran. I’m very glad to be there.
So glad lots of people get to read your books! Bet they are happier for it. 🙂 Way to go, Blanche!
Thanks, Kimberly. I appreciate you and Duke’s believing in me and my cozies.
