Loud and Dark and Stormy Morning

Stormy weather and April–they go together like a hat and a glove. Thunder is a continuous roaring in the distance, but a few minutes ago, it was directly overhead. Lightning still shivers and skitters across the wet street and the thunder is undecided about returning, but, yes! I believe another round is approaching.

Fireworks for my birthday, actually the day after my birthday. I do love an April storm, as long as it doesn’t do any harm. Spring is an uncertain time, filled with surprises and unruly weather is one of them.

My birthday was so much fun yesterday, I’m thinking about having another one today! Dayla and the girls’ visit at noon, My family taking me out to eat and the birthday cake and gifts and laughter. I am truly blessed. And phone calls and cards and my niece singing Happy Birthday to me and my two brothers’ and sister-in-law’s good wishes plus good wishes from many of you. Thank you!

The Italian restaurant where we ate last night is renowned for its delicious food, it’s home-baked bread fresh from the oven and drizzling with butter, its food seasoned to perfection, the authentic atmosphere and Italian love songs on the sound system. Deciding it was a time to be adventuresome, for the first time in my life, I tried Stromboli. Very tasty!

This is critique day. Maybe the weather will let up a bit for that. It’s a lot of fun to get together with these friends and although the weather may be stormy on the outside, they always fill my house with sunshine.
